Youthful souls reading from their first attempts at poetry from notebooks scribbles writen under a tree or in front of some small body of water, any place they probably thought would be conducive to tapping into the ether. Plus, us. I remember I wrote a piece about the middle east that till today, sounds like the verbal equivalent to dicing chef’s knives in a garbage disposal. Perception pouring his broken heart in a cadence that was more Mos Def than related to the saps spiting generic def poetry slam sounds.
